"To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
Henri Cartier-Bresson
In my world, light is not merely an element of photography—it is its very soul. I pursue light's nuances, watching how it transforms ordinary scenes into extraordinary moments. While composition, framing, timing, and patience are crucial tools in my craft, it is the ever-shifting quality of light that continues to challenge and inspire my artistic journey.
My work embraces the full spectrum of natural illumination—from the dramatic crimson washes of sunrise to the delicate pastels of sunset; from the ethereal tranquility of blue hour to the warm embrace of golden hour. When nature's light proves difficult, I occasionally employ filters as interpreters, taming harsh midday glare or creating dreamlike effects across water and clouds.
My photographic explorations follow wherever my travels lead—through the diverse landscapes of the United States, the historic streets of Europe, and increasingly, to those corners of the world still awaiting my lens. New York City is my favorite muse, inspiring diverse bodies of work in street photography, celestial studies of the moon against urban silhouettes, and iconic skyline compositions that capture the city's restless energy.
It is in my home of Morristown, New Jersey where I embrace the photographer's greatest challenge: finding unique perspectives in familiar surroundings, training my eye to see the overlooked beauty in everyday scenes. This practice of "seeing differently" is a constant reminder that remarkable images don't always require exotic locations, but rather an attentive eye that notices what others might miss.
Through my photography, I invite viewers to pause and recognize the extraordinary that lives within the ordinary—those fleeting moments of perfect light that transform the mundane into the magical.
